The Alexsan Youth Desk focuses on programmes aimed at assisting Alexandra Township's young people to prepare themselves for the 'world at work'.  Considerable emphasis is placed on skills training, job placement, on-the-job training, support groups and Career Counselling.  

The Youth Desk has been responsible for training and matching young people to job opportunities in the fields of plumbing, carpentry, building, painting, cooking, catering, waitressing, dress making, merchandising and general office work.

In an environment where few people have attained professional status, the Alexsan Youth Desk plays an important role in preparing young people from Alexandra Township for the serious business of preparing for a career rather than simply a job.
